VISITING PROFESSORS 2019

Opening of the call for projects Visiting Professors: 14th January 2019

Deadline for submission of applications: 7th February 2019

This program provides, to doctoral schools of the Nord – Pas-de-Calais, an opportunity to welcome internationally reputed professors for short one-week stays, who deliver an advanced top-level course for the attention of PhD students.

The deadline is fixed until 7th February 2019
The selection of candidates is scheduled the 14th of February 2019
 

Prerequisites for Visiting Professor applications:

  • be non-French nationals
  • be under the age of 65 on September 1st of the academic year
  • conduct their research activity in a foreign research unit
  • take part in doctoral training in their home institution
  • speak fluent French or English to deliver courses in one of these two languages exclusively

 

Candidate selection criteria

  • The academic excellence of the candidate with respect to his/her publications and research output in particular, or his/her research promotion activities, or his/her investment in international research projects
  • The content and relevance of his/her teaching mission and research to the host regional doctoral school
  • Potential co-funding - by the host institution, the research unit or regional Doctoral School - of the visit in addition to the maximum sum of € 3,600 (covering accommodation, meals, transport and the time spent for delivering courses by the Visiting Professor)

Composition of the selection commitee

The Visiting Professors selection committee includes the representatives from the doctoral college.

Terms and conditions

  • Eligible expenses pertaining to the stay by Visiting Professors (travel expenses, accommodation and meals will be paid directly to the laboratory) with a flat rate for 12 hours of courses (the course hours will be paid directly tothe Visiting Professor )
  • The maximum available fund is capped at € 3,600 per one-week visit
  • Once the selection committee has made its decision, the DAI will organise the funding paid to the selected visiting professor in collaboration with the concerned partners

Activity review

An activity review (scientific and financial review) will be provided at the end by the host laboratory.
